PRESIDENT'S NOTES

I hope you had a relaxing break and a Happy New Year. The 15th District PTA Board is excited about the programs and projects we have planned for the coming year. The beginning of the new year is a good time to have another membership campaign. Communicate to your school community about all of the things your PTA does. Many times people don't see the value of PTA  because they aren't aware of the many important things PTA does for the students and school.  

There  will be an Awards Seminar on January 17 from 7 pm to 8 pm at Gheens. We will help you complete award applications. The district Spelling Bee is scheduled for February 9. Take Your Family to School Week will be celebrated February 12 - 18 to pay tribute to the PTA's legacy of building family-school partnerships. Founders Day is February 17, however you can celebrate it any time in February.  Founders Day celebrates the significant role PTA has played in supporting parent involvement and working on behalf of all children and families. Don't forget to attend the Parent-Teacher Conference on February 13.  

Mark your calendars now for our Programs & Vendors Fair on March 15 from 11 am to 5 pm and the 15th District PTA Awards Banquet on May 8 at 6:30 pm. 

We are here to support you. We are not the PTA police, looking to arrest you for filling out your reports incorrectly.  We are a group of volunteers just like you. We want  to be a valuable resource to you as we all try to make a positive difference in the lives of our children. We are all on the same team.
